We had a nice little engagement session with Hollie and Scott in downtown Knoxville’s Krutch Park. It was sprinkling when we arrived. The light rain stopped long enough to play for about a half hour.

Even with the on-and-off light rain, Market Square and Krutch Park were both bussin with people. We got to play around with the various water features throughout the park. Hmmm…. playing with water features on a rainy day. :)

Anytime we get to play is wonderful! :)

Emmie and Zane are such a fun couple! They are getting married at Dara’s Garden next spring. They decided they wanted to have their engagement session there as well! Dara is such a sweetheart and their property make a wonderful backdrop.

They are the type of couple I just love to photograph. You can tell, just by spending a few moments with them, that they are head-over-heals for eachother. Love is just one of those emotions I just love being around. You couldn’t help but smile around these two!

I am so looking forward to their wedding!

Amy and Aaron’s engagment session was a lot of fun. Not only did we shoot their engagment session at Volunteer Landing, we were granted permission to photograph on the trains. It made for some really nice backdrops and nice imagery. One of my favorite images was with the two of them standing beside the steam engine.

I love it when we are able to use a location or something that is important to the couple. Here are a few more images from their engagement session:

This week, we’re back in Knoxville’s Old City with Amanda and Cody. Amanda is a sweatheart. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her and finding out about her wedding day. I could see in her eyes howmuch in love she is with Cody before I ever even met him.

They were up for just about anything! We played around all over the Old City. Brick walls, reflections in store windows, dips, and fun romantic imagery. I can already tell we are going to have some wonderful images from their wedding day!

Here are a few more images from their engagement session.

I met Bethany and Justin last month on my trip to Chattanooga. We photographed a wedding at their church last year. Although they didn’t know Carrie & Ryan, they did know quite a few people from their wedding! It is always interesting to meet couples who know others we have photographed!

This week, I was back down in Chattanooga to photograph Bethany and Justin’s engagment session. We photographed around the downtown area and had a lot of fun with them! They are such a wonderful couple, lots of fun and easy to work with. I can’t wait to capture their ceremony!

Wow, April was a busy month for engagement sessions! With the beautiful weather and wonderful locations, we captured a lot of incredible imagery!

We started Kristin and Scott’s engagement session at Volunteer Landing, and finished up over at the World’s Fair Park. Kristin has this wonderful smile and sparkle in her eyes that just plays to the camera. You can tell fromthe image above, and the images below, that she is very much in love with Scott.

They were a lot of fun to work with. I’m looking forward to their wedding later this summer. :)

Althea & Marcus

This week, I went down to Coolidge Park in Chattanooga for Althea & Marcus’ engagment session. Althea was a bridesmaid in a wedding we photographed a couple of years ago and has booked us for her wedding this coming summer.

I have to say, they are an absolutely wonderful couple, full of smiles and very much into each other. The warmth of spring had filled the park. I started searching for a nice location (the park was filled with people) and came across the rocks besde the river. All these gorgeous flowers were all along the river’s edge.

As I was photographing them, a guitar player came and sat down by the river to play. I love getting to incorporate surrounding in photographs, and the guitar player was happy to let us photograph him in their session (it turns out they knew him from a local restaraunt).

Wonderful weather, beautiful scenery, and an incredible couple. Who could ask for more? :)

Elizabeth & Joe

Every time I have been at Sequoyah Hills Park, I have loved the scenery. When we went to photograph Elizabeth and Joe’s engagement session, the spring colors were in full bloom. The trees were incredible! They made a wonderful backdrop, and it was easy to see why they like the park as well. I absolutely love spring in Tennessee, with the cherry and bartlet pear trees filled with color.

One of the nice things about they way I try to work with couples is stepping back and watching how they interract together. They start to forget that there is a camera nearby and relax. After a few moments of leaving them alone, I’ll approach, take a few posed photographs and move on.

By the end of their engagement session, it was easy to see how in love they were with each other. Here are a few more images from their session:
