Pro Print of the Week @ F/32
Our print from Jenna & Joe’s engagement session won Pro Print of the Week at F/32 Photo!
F/32 Photo is a local lab that caters to consumers and local professionals. Whenever anyone purchases the digital files from their wedding/event/session, we always suggest going to a high quality lab to have prints made. The lab we suggest for local prints is F/32 photo!
Leigh and I love this photograph. Not only did we have a lot of fun with Jenna & Joe during their engagement session (and wedding), it was great playing with them in the water.
I love trash-the-dress sessions. Especially when they are romantic sessions like this one!
Thank you F/32 Photo for selecting this image as this weeks winner!

Sketch of Emmie & Zane
Emmie sent me a link to this image that a friend of hers posted on Facebook. The sketch is based on a photograph we shot during Emmie & Zane’s wedding day.
We don’t know who the artist is (neither did Emmie), or why he chose the image from their wedding day, but wow! The detail he brought out is wonderful! I’d love to see the completed artwork! I’m just flattered that someone chose this image!

Brad Blackwell
About a month ago, Leigh introduced me to Brad Blackwell, a local musician, who, if you haven’t heard his song “She’s My Rainbow” on 106.1, you really should hear him sing. He has quickly become one of our favorite singers – I don’t think there is one bad song on his first CD.
Brad performs quite often around the Knoxville area. If you get a chance, check him our on Facebook where you can find several of his songs as well. One of our favorites is Angelica.
The images below are from his July 1st performance at Mulligan’s in West Knoxville.

Are you a local Knoxville area musician? Would you like us to photograph you?
One of the things we love to do is support local musicians. When I lived in California, I was a keyboard player with a contemporary Christian rock group. It was one of the most enjoyable times of my life (one of many chapters).
Leigh and I love to support the local bands. Throughout the blog, we’ll add in some of our favorites, with photo shoots, events, and upcoming performances.
If you and would like us to photograph you, your band, or any of your performances, let us know through the form below. If you would like us to perform an event, all we ask is any passes and credentials required for access.

Ashley & Ben - June 5, 2010
It’s interesting to photograph some wedding. We’ve known Ashley and her family for at least 15 years. Our youngest daughter grew up with Ashley. They were in some of the same classes since elementary school, and went to brownies and girl scouts together. To have someone we’ve watched grow up and get married, it just takes us back.
Ashley and Ben are very nice couple. We had fun with them at their engagement session, and their wedding day was absolutely beautiful! It was amazing to see the faith they both carried within themselves, as well as the love they have for each other. It is just really nice to see such devotion in both of them. This carried on through their wonderful ceremony. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of their wedding.
Their wedding planner did an incredible jog with the decorations. Each table had it’s own theme, taking in different likes, interests, life history, and moments together. Coupled with photographs of the two of them all over the place, you got a sense of who these two people are, and how they have grown together. It was a really nice way to include the two of them into the reception is a way where their guests could share the beginning of their lives together.
That Saturday was a very hot, sunny day. It turned out to beautiful outside, but I’m glad most of the activities were all indoors. The great thing about it was Marble Slab Ice Cream was there. With several flavors and toppings, it was a very welcome treat. The line for ice cream went all the way around the reception hall. I don’t think the line ever slowed down throughout the entire reception! I can see this catching on more at summer weddings, like we saw with S’mores on cooler spring or autumn receptions.
After the reception, we headed over to the UT Arboretum just outside of Oak Ridge. It was a little bit of a blessing as a quick rain shower passed through just before we arrived. So, it wasn’t as hot as it had been just a short while earlier, yet the humidity was now up. Even so, we were able to capture some really wonderful imagery of just the two of them. The photo at the top of this post was from there, as well as a few more in the slideshow below. Giving the two of them a little time to be together, and being able to be a part of that – it is something that Leigh and I love to experience. As Ashley & Ben walk off holding hands, it bring Leigh and myself to holding hands while we ride home.
Here are come more images from their wedding day:
