It was a beautiful October day for Katherine & Scott’s wedding day at Whitestone Country Inn. They had a very elegant wedding ceremony in the chapel. They planned to meet before the wedding, so we set Scott up at the gazebo, with Katherine coming up from behind to meet him. After leaving them alone for a few minutes together, we took care of all the family formals before the ceremony.
They had probably one of the best receptions I’ve seen this summer. Boys Night Out got everyone up and dancing with their entertaining music. It was a real party! Check out the photos we posted on Facebook to see more!

It was a real pleasure to meet Rachel and Jason. With the two of them both living outside of Tennessee, I started to get to know Rachel over the phone. She is such a friendly person, you can’t help but be her friend!
Jason’s family held the wedding on their riverfront property in Louisville, TN. The location made for some incredible imagery, and the day was absolutely beautiful wedding weather! They even released butterflies as part of their ceremony.
The intimate reception was held at the Air National Guard base in Alcoa. Check out their wedding images on Facebook – they had a wonderful time at the reception!

It was a gorgeous (but very hot) day for Angela & Shane’s wedding day at Twin Cedar Farms. What stood out to me was how much love there was. Not only between Angela and Shane, but also the closeness they had with family. It was a real pleasure to be around all the group hugs, friendships, and emotion that played out throughout the day.
From the details, through their first seeing each other before the wedding, and all throughout the ceremony and reception, there were so many memories being made that day. I could tell they were a little playful during their engagement session, but they were even more so during the wedding reception. For me, this wedding really combined family, run, and romance all into one wonderful couple! Check out their gallery on Facebook below for more photos from this fun day!

Catheryne & Steven were a wonderful couple to work with. I hadn’t really had a chance to meet with them much before the wedding day since they live out-of-state. I didn’t even meet Steven until the wedding day! For a district court judge, he had a great sense of humor and was extremely fun and playful all day long. Catheryne was originally from this area, and her family still lives here, so they held their wedding at Crescent Bend, which is an incredible place to hold such an occasion!
We followed up their wedding day with a day-after session, also at Crescent Bend, the following morning. This allowed us to roam around the property at a more relaxed pace and capture some really nice imagery, especially around the fountains.
It was a real pleasure getting to know the two of them. I was honored to be a part of their wedding day!

Julia & Wesley had a very elegant summer wedding. The newly renovated church gave us some nice artistic lighting to play with Julia, as well as some nice ceremony photographs.
They did have one little hiccup as the ceremony was about to start. The unity candle was originally placed on the altar, towards one side. Wesley’s parents lit their candle, then when Julia’s parents went to light theirs, the air conditioner turned on and kept blowing both candles out. They ended up moving the candles off of the altar. With how smooth the rest of the day went, that was a little something to chuckle over later.
They had a very nice reception at the downtown Marriott. Everything was extremely elegant, and we had a chance to work with (in our opinion) Knoxville’s best DJ, Jim Ogle. If you’re looking to have a DJ for your reception, seek him out way in advance – he is definitely in demand.
We captured a gorgeous sunset over downtown Knoxville as the evening was winding down. I just love the colors we captured in the image above.

Courtney and Brad were an extremely fun couple! One of the interesting things about LDS weddings is… well… no ceremony photographs. Very few people are present during the actual ceremony. Other family members, friends, wedding party, (and photographer) are all outside waiting for the couple to make their way outside the temple as man and wife.
The fun part was actually getting to play most of the afternoon. After taking some photographs outside the temple, and a small reception at a local restaurant, we headed over to the Belle Meade Plantation. The grounds are absolutely stunning. I don’t think there is anywhere we could have gone and not taken an amazing photograph. Plus, having such a fun couple to play with made my job easy. The reception was held the following day at their church in Farragut, TN.
You can probably tell from all the photographs around this post, their wedding day was a blast. Jump on over to Facebook to see more from their wedding day!

- Bethany & Justin – February 22, 2009
I’ve been looking forward to Bethany and Justin’s wedding for quite a while! We shot their engagement session last May. We had a lot of fun in downtown Chattanooga that day. I knew we were going to have a lot fun with them at their wedding!
We have shot at the 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chattanooga before, so we were familiar with the church. Of course, every wedding is different, and with how Bethany and Justin had their day set up, we got to play a little more with them!

Watching
The fun part was playing with the natural lighting throughout the church. From the girls looking into the sanctuary through the blinds, to have the guys over by the bright windows, there was a lot to play with.

The Guys
They had 1934 Cadillac take them from the church to the Seraton Read House. It was absolutely beautiful. Before leaving the church, we did take a few shots of the two of them with the car (see above).

Bethany & Justin
The Seraton Read House is a wonderful location for receptions. The ballroom has a wonderful, antique style to it that just adds to the atmosphere. Bethany and Justin’s reception went right along with the feeling of the room. It was a wonderful evening filled with friends, family, and lots of smiles. Their 3-year old nephew even sang them a song!

Archway
We ended the evening going over to Coolidge Park to take a few photographs of the two of them with the city lights behind them. Normally, I would look to backlight them, but the available lighting along the walkway was more then enough to capture a wonderful image of the two of them.

- Anna & Billy – January 17, 2009
Anna & Billy are an absolutely wonerful couple. We had a lot of fun with them, even with their Sunsphere reception plans changed at the last minute.
They met before the ceremony. We planned their first moment together in the Church’s narthax where they could have a few moments alone with each other. This is something we love to do, and they were a lot of fun to play with! Their entire day, they were all smiles and into being husband and wife. Read More
